"Really special gig last night, beautiful sounding room. Loved every second."
Approximately 20 years since his last North American tour, English singer/songwriter David Gray played one of his seven solo shows to our sold out theatre on November 23, 2016. Best known for his 1998 album, White Ladder, this award winning artist captured the hearts of many with his acoustic sound and chart-topping singles, even garnering the support and respect of superstars such as Dave Matthews and Radiohead. In addition to being a highly respected folk musician, David Gray was also a member of the fictional band Venus in Furs, alongside Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood, among others. The fictitious band was formed for and featured in the 1998 film Velvet Goldmine, a dramatic account of the lives of more fictional musicians, heavily inspired by 1970s’ glam rock icons, including the likes of David Bowie and Iggy Pop.
