"Thank you Collingswood Foundation for the Arts!! Great to be back!"
Musicians and multi-instrumentalists Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek formed the band America after meeting as boys on an United States Air Force base in England where their fathers were stationed. After their debut in 1970, they gained prominence through the decade with hits such as Ventura Highway and Sister Golden Hair prior to Peek’s departure from the band in 1977. Despite the mild commercial decline following the withdrawal of their friend, Beckley and Bunnell topped the charts again in ’82 with the release of You Can Do Magic and have continued to record and tour together as a duo ever since.
