Unstoppable HackBeats and The Classic Brown plus Frank Cervantes
POSTPONED to Friday, November 6. Concert at 6:30. Grounds open at 6:00.
The Unstoppable Hack Beats are a multi-instrumental group that brings big-band musicianship to classic rock, soul, and reggae tunes. Moving fluidly between Motown and Kingston sounds with a rotating roster of players, they’re known for their colorful energy and blue-collar work ethic. This band puts the “work” in “working musicians,” sharing bills with big-name acts and holding their own. Packed with punchy vocals, a groove-dealing rhythm section, and a snarling guitar lineup, the Hack Beats deliver good times for audiences of all ages. Bring your masks and matching dancing shoes.
The Classic Brown is Canadian-American singer-songwriter and indie-folk artist, Stacey Brown-Downham accompanied by David Dunn on drums, Matt Weber on bass, and her husband, David Downham on guitar. Her first album charted on Canadian college radio and CBC Radio 3. Since having kids and tending to her day job as a high school teacher, she has been recording yearly holiday charity songs, including one featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered. She is currently recording what she half-jokingly refers to her opus with her husband at their studio Gradwell House, and is one of the founding organizers of Collingswood Porchfest. You can find The Classic Brown on most social media and music platforms, including Bandcamp.
Frank Cervantes is a singer-songwriter whose sound is best described as mellow, pensive electronic-indie rock. His bands have been favorites at WXPN over the years. Cervantes uses this music to vocalize his internal battles with such things as teenage romance nostalgia, night terrors, bad relationships, and getting older. He currently plays with The Unstoppable Hackbeats and in a collaborative group known as Retroglyphs, as he slowly crafts his next solo album. Come discover a local hidden treasure.
Admission is $15.00. Bring your own lawn chair/blanket/snacks and relax under the stars on the grounds of our Mansion. Our bar will be open for alcohol sales. Cash or credit cards accepted.
